The biggest lie in the footballing world are the rankings. Rankings can be improved by beating much smaller sides who have been seeded by FIFA. For example, if we play teams ranked at say 170+ we will win and hence our ranks would get boosted. We can feel great about beating Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka in football but that is not really what we should aim for. Our aim is to be at the level of Iran and Australia. There will be 48 teams in the 2026 World Cup, which means eight teams from Asia. Eight teams in Asia is great, but many other Asian teams have been coming up in a very big way. Top 8 Asian teams could be: Iran, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, China, and Iraq.
