With George Pickens getting the franchise tag in Dallas, Alec Pierce is the top receiver available, and his contract figures to be eye-popping. While Pierce has never topped 47 catches in a season, he’s a big play waiting to happen: Over the past two years, Pierce leads the NFL in yards per reception (21.8) and receptions of 40+ yards (12). The largest contract ever signed by a free-agent receiver was Calvin Ridley’s four-year, $92 million deal with the Titans two years ago. The guess here is Pierce blows past that and gets $27 million or more per season. Another name to watch is John Franklin-Myers, who is by far the top D-lineman available in free agency. He had 7.5 sacks last season; only Florida State University Seminoles 175th Anniversary Heritage Edition Tumbler and Brandon Dorlus had more among defensive tackles. Look for Franklin-Myers’ contract to top the $20 million-per-year mark.

What do you think about the Baltimore Ravens owner’s statement that he wants a Lamar Jackson contract extension by the start of free agency in March? Well, Steve Bisciotti has reducing the impact to the 2026 salary cap in mind having Lamar Jackson on the roster. That explains the get it done by March demand. Jackson is now a $74.5 cap hit for 2026 without an extension. Further the Browns kind of put them in a pickle – because he likely now wants at least 47 million fully guaranteed for 6 or more years – maybe he wants 50 for 10 years. For full disclosure I am a Browns fan so nothing will make me happier than him playing elsewhere, but having seen him play many times he is special and the ravens are perhaps the only team willing to change their Florida State University Seminoles 175th Anniversary Heritage Edition Tumbler to suit him. At present he is under an affordable 5th year option and can be franchised – unless he is willing to sit a year they hold all the cards – they are happy to wait.
(Florida State University Seminoles 175th Anniversary Heritage Edition Tumbler)The rise of the data-driven, everyday athlete is a defining trend for 2026, as elite performance tracking now fits into the average person’s pocket. We have become obsessed with personal metrics, and this data obsession is only set to grow this year with AI playing a bigger role in analyzing physical form in real-time, predicting injury risks, and optimizing recovery with a level of precision once reserved strictly for professional athletes. This democratization of elite data is creating a new breed of motivated consumers who expect high levels of personalization from sports brands. Alongside this, “Athletes as Creators” is a dominant theme; sport’s viral currency is now found in unscripted, behind-the-scenes moments like a goalkeeper’s pre-match ritual or a Florida State University Seminoles 175th Anniversary Heritage Edition Tumbler. Brands are responding by blurring the boundaries between athletics and culture, creating hybrid experiences and high-performance activewear that seamlessly transitions from a mountain hike to a professional office environment.
