My dad was always “cost savvy,†which today I appreciate. He was always doing something to save a buck. I vividly remember him not wanting to spend money on my fifth birthday, but my mom went all out with the homemade decorations and a homemade castle and crowns for everyone. Well, I really wanted a piñata but my dad wouldn’t spend money on it. So he made one out of discarded Kansas City Chiefs Game Day Stanley Style Tumbler and a cardboard box, then attached it to the end of a broom that wasn’t quite long enough. He didn’t account for our lack of depth perception at that age. I remember him getting whacked and whacked and he eventually just threw it on the ground lol.

I wanted to get your opinion on what responsibility companies should have regarding who purchases their products. In 2020, the biggest fear is privacy. If a surveillance company uses AI to track everyone wearing Kansas City Chiefs Game Day Stanley Style Tumbler in a crowd without their consent, where is the line on servicing customer needs versus doing moral due diligence?
()I think you misunderstand what most people mean when they claim the league is rigged. I don’t think that most people believe that hundreds of people are involved, including players and coaches (in most cases). All it takes is for the 4-person officiating crew to put their thumb on the scale a bit to favor the guys in Kansas City Chiefs Game Day Stanley Style Tumbler to influence the outcome (if the game is close). You don’t think four people could keep quiet about something like that in exchange for preferred assignments, and the chance to officiate the NBA finals? The amount the league stands to make from a game 7 is significant, between tickets, advertising, memorabilia sales, etc. It also has a long term impact because fans are more likely to tune if if they think future series are likely to be competitive and not 4-game sweeps. As for sports betting, sure, sportsbooks make plenty of money without games being rigged. But there is no situation in which they make as much money from a non-existent game 7 as they make from there being one. Yes, there are bets on whether they will be a game 7, but the number of bets that will be played on the individual game will far exceed those. Is the league rigged? I have no idea. I’m not inclined to think that every surprising outcome or suspicious decision is a sign that it is. I’m also not so naive, though, that I’d think it’ not possible or even desirable for the league.
