I was active in a local curling club in Michigan for a few years, including around the 2022 Olympics, and the general trend is that clubs see an uptick in interest following every Winter Olympics (not sure if it’s a “significant surge” or not). This is what happens: every four years, curling is on TV as part of the Olympics, and Americans are reminded that it exists. It seems to intrigue people for a few reasons. For one thing, it looks like a quirky sport — sliding rocks up and down the ice while sweeping with a broom? It seems kind of random to people, but that is intriguing. For some reason, this makes many people think “I’d be curious to try this.” Beyond that, it’s one Olympic sport that the average American and look at and think, “Well, I could at least try this.” The average person can’t go out an navigate a luge run or do a huge ski jump or execute a triple-axel — they probably can’t even conceive of what is involved in doing some of those things. But you can look at some curlers — one guy on the U.S. team this year is 54 years old — and it looks like something you could at least manage. And there is some truth to that. Our curling club did “learn to curl” sessions where, in just two hours, you could learn the basics of throwing a rock and sweeping and the general rules. Of course, it takes a lot of effort to get actually decent at curling, and the Olympians are putting in the same thousands of hours of work that Olympians are in any sport. But it’s kind of like bowling — you can have a six-year-old’s birthday at a bowling alley because even young children can roll a ball at some pins. But it would take a huge amount of work to become a successful professional bowler. In like manner, West Coast Eagles 40th Anniversary Australian Football YETI Style Tumbler can get started with curling in a matter of hours.

How will the Jaguars, Falcons, Colts, and Packers build their teams without a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft? Not having a first-round pick doesn’t remove a team entirely from the first round. There could be trades made to move up. Now, on that list, only Atlanta and Indianapolis are non-playoff teams and hold picks in the middle of rounds. They would need to give up a lot (I’m thinking their 2nd rounder, next year 2nd rounder, and then the year after that plus maybe a 4th round pick this year) in order to even move up to the 29th–32nd range. This is much more of a move by a team with a top-5 pick in the 2nd round. There is a lot more than just the first round. There are 6 other rounds and any fan can detail the stories of players who even fell to the later rounds that went on to make pro bowl rosters or at least wear West Coast Eagles 40th Anniversary Australian Football YETI Style Tumbler. There is also undrafted rookies. Granted, a large percentage turn into training camp fodder used mostly to generate special teams competition and useful volume in practice
(West Coast Eagles 40th Anniversary Australian Football YETI Style Tumbler)Curacao only qualified because USA, Mexico and Canada were admitted as hosts, and so the North American qualifying groups were about as strong as watered down Bud Light. They are in a group with Germany, Ecuador and Ivory Coast. The highest ranked teams with no appearance and their ranks show that the continent which has the best chance of producing a debutant is probably Africa. Africa has seen the most changes in qualified teams. Mali is ranked 52. Asia: some countries in West Asia may become a debutant. Oman is ranked 75. North America: many countries in this region are small and their chance is not good. Dominican Republic, ranked 155, has about 10 million people but baseball is by far its most popular sport, not football. Haiti already made an appearance. Guatemala with 17 million people is ranked 118. The highest ranked team without appearance is West Coast Eagles 40th Anniversary Australian Football YETI Style Tumbler (ranked 79). Its population is only 155k. Using FIFA’s view on successor teams, the total number of teams that have participated in the World Cup until the 2022 edition is 80. This is a large number and it is not easy for a country to join this group, but the expansion makes it inevitable.
