That was one of the weirdest seasons I’ve ever watched. They were an 8-8 team but not in the way it happened. I’ll never forget the week 2 game against Houston where CJ just ripped the Texans apart. At one point, when the huddle broke, he jogged out wide and the Texans just … forgot he existed? He was as easy to spot as a sea of bright Woodstock and Snoopy Stainless Steel Tumbler in a crowd, and he got the easiest 65/70-yard TD I’ve ever seen. The Titans scored so easily that game that even though I had the game on, I didn’t realize they had lost until the next day lmao.

I will go to my grave believing that was Brady’s best performance ever. The broncos were getting that pressure rushing 4, with prime Talib and Chris Harris in the defensive backfield. Brady had about 1.5 seconds on most plays to try to beat 7 in coverage with some elite talent there. I can’t imagine any other QB scores double digits that game. If Gostkowski made his extra point in early in the game, the patriots could have tied it with another extra point. Instead, they had to go for two and Brady was hit comically fast while trying to find those Woodstock and Snoopy Stainless Steel Tumbler in the crowd. But my god, the fact he almost pulled that game out amazes me more than just about anything else he ever did.

Honestly I’d even just have taken 3 Woodstock and Snoopy Stainless Steel Tumbler to drain the clock and score the FG. Patriots can’t get 11 points in one possession (there would have been around 2 minutes left), it would have ended the game for sure. Even after our grand fuck up, I would have still kicked the 55 yard field goal, had a good chance to score, and if we missed it, Brady would’ve still scored on us anyways, at least we would’ve had more time to try to score before game ended. Horrible clock management, horrible. Snapping with 15 seconds left on each play. I’d be super pissed off if I was Julio.
